Tatreez

T1There is room for Tatreez in the fashion market? Haida Sinno does not hesitate when answering the question. And Haida Sinno knows much about fashion. She is probably the most recognized figure in the regional fashion scene and besides she hosts the daily fashion segments on Future TV’s Alam Assabah.

On the second day of the workshop to launch the project Tatreez, Palestinian embroidery tradition and modern designs have been face to face. Are they incompatible? “Not at all. They can go together”, says Sarah Beydoun.

Sarah is a renowned Lebanese designer. Her bags are sold worldwide.

Both, Haida and Sarah were the guests on the last day of the Tatreez project launch workshop that was held in Beirut on 30 and 31 May.

Haida and Sarah talked animatedly (see photo, by Natalia Sancha) with project beneficiaries, who were very receptive to new ideas.

The project aims to increase the income of the 120 women beneficiaries selling online tatreez. And the key is to make quality products that respect the tradition handed down from mother to daughter, but of interest to the widest possible audience.
