that was in Beirut for three successive days from Tuesday 22-7-14.

  • The Exhibition is mainly assembling the Tatreez products that are produced by the trainers of Ein Helwi Camp in order to sell them for the employes of ESCWA in Beirut.
  • The Exhibition explains clearly and briefly the stages of the project starting from the training courses to the finished and welldone products until now.
  • As more welldone the product is, as more as the trainers will witness theirselves selling more from the products.

  1. Faten Miari, 49 years old, a trainer and a participant in the project, attended the first two days of the Exhibition. She was happy with the number of employees that were interested in all the products from the bags to scarves… And that made her more passionate about the Exhibition. She expressed: “the first factor in attracting the customers was the quality of the embroidered Tatreez, and its modernity” the thing that is different from the other participating projects in the Exhibition. That encouraged her to stay for the last minute with a big smile on her face. In the second day, we saw different category of customers, not only women was interested but also men came to check out the attracting collection of the products. But Faten’s only fear was her ability to manage control in marketing and selling her products in the best way possible.
  2. Fatima Khatib, a trainer and a participant of the project, attended the third day of the Exhibition. Also her products attracted many customers, and she selled more than the past two days. Fatima is professional in the art of Tatreez, and she confidentially expressed the quality of her hard work to the customers. She was enthusiastic from the beginning about the welldone quantity she sold at the end.
  3. The ESCWA employees did not stop looking all over the beautiful products for the whole three days, and expressing how much they are surprised by the work the trainers did from the tatreez to the quality and modernity of each item. They encouraged the trainers to continue their unique work and gave them a big push to spread and expand it.
  4. Untill now the trainers in Ein Helwi Camp are working in the same professional way trying their best to posses all the techniques and apply them as much as possible, because that made them sell more and gain more. But they are having a fear regarding the upcoming exhibitions and the projects that are participating, as well as their weak marketing techniques. And they hope to continue and reach economical independence and social security and wish the cooperative they work in all the best.
  5. Tatreez is a project funded by the European Union with a grant of 650,693 Euros and implemented by the Spanish NGO CIVES MUNDI
